ANCHOR of North Central Florida offers flexible, hours-based membership model that allows you to use your time however you need, whether that’s arranging a ride to the doctor, a friendly visit or navigating complex healthcare decisions.

Advocacy & Support Services

  • Personal Advocacy – Helping customers navigate healthcare, social services, housing and community resources.
  • Care Coordination – Assist with arranging home care, medical appointments and personal appointments.
  • Crisis Prevention – Provide support during situations such as hospitalization or changes in health or living conditions.
  • Communication Assistance – Act as a liaison with healthcare providers, social workers, and family to ensure customer’s needs are understood and addressed.

Daily Living & Independence Support

  • Wellness Checks – In-person or virtual visits to monitor health, safety and overall wellbeing.
  • Medication Reminders – Ensure customers are following prescribed medication schedules (non-clinical reminders).
  • Paperwork Assistance – Help understand household bills, mail and paperwork to reduce stress and avoid lapses.
  • Technology Support – Support customers to be able to utilize devices (phones, tablets) for easier communication and daily living.
  • Fraud & Scam Awareness – Make our customers aware on how to spot suspicious activity and help report any incidents.

Family & Caregiver Services

  • Geriatric Care Planning – Manage personalized geriatric care plans that support independence, safety, and quality of life. Through a comprehensive, non-medical assessment, we identify needs, set priorities, and coordinate practical support. As circumstances change, actively monitor and adjust care plans, for customers, and keep families informed—ensuring care remains organized, responsive, and centered on what matters most.
  • Out-of-State Family Updates – Regular reports for adult children or caregivers who live far away, keeping them informed about their loved one’s status.

ANCHOR is a professional advocacy and independent-living support service designed to help older adults and adults with disabilities remain safe, confident, and independent at home.

We provide hands-on assistance, problem-solving, personalized planning, and ongoing support to reduce daily stress, coordinate resources, and help individuals live the life they choose—while offering peace of mind to families, especially those living out of state.

ANCHOR is a non-medical service offered through Elder Options (the Area Agency on Aging/ADRC for North Central Florida).

ANCHOR is not a home-care agency, not a guardian, and not a case manager.

You may use ANCHOR services on an hourly, pay-as-you-go basis.
However, many individuals choose membership because it offers:

  • Priority scheduling
  • Discounted service hours
  • Better long-term value
  • Ongoing support with a consistent Advocate

We offer multiple tiers so you can choose the level that works best for you.

Memberships include a set number of service hours that can be used for any ANCHOR support. Members also receive:

  • Priority access to ANCHOR Associates
  • A personalized support plan
  • Regular family updates
  • Coordination of ongoing needs
  • Consistent communication and proactive check-ins

Unused hours can be carried into future months based on membership terms.

Standard service hours are during normal business hours, Monday through Friday.
Evening or weekend support may be arranged on a case-by-case basis depending on staff availability.

Some services can be provided virtually or by phone.

You can choose from:

  • Hourly services billed as used
  • Membership packages with discounted rates

Invoices are transparent and easy to understand. Payment can be made securely online.
There are no long-term contracts, if you choose to enroll in a membership you may change or cancel your membership with only 30 days notice or simply pay as you go with our hourly service charge.

No. ANCHOR provides non-medical support only.

We do not perform:

  • Personal care (bathing, dressing, toileting, transfers)
  • Medication administration
  • Skilled nursing or clinical services

If medical support is needed, we can help coordinate home-health providers or community resources.

Most services can begin within a few days once your initial conversation is completed.
For urgent needs, we make every effort to respond sooner.

We follow Elder Options privacy standards and ethical guidelines.

Services are delivered by trained ANCHOR Associates who specialize in advocacy, independent living support, navigation of services, communication, and problem-solving.

Associates receive ongoing training, supervision, and support to ensure high-quality service.

ANCHOR is designed to be flexible.

Your support plan and services can be adjusted at any time to match changes in your health, preferences, goals, or daily circumstances.

We regularly coordinate with:

We help ensure everyone is working together to support your independence.

No.
ANCHOR is not an emergency response service.

In an emergency, always call 911.

However, ANCHOR can help plan for emergencies, coordinate follow-up, and support communication with family members.

We assist with transportation coordination, such as scheduling rides, arranging appointments, or accompanying someone if appropriate.

We do not operate a transportation fleet ourselves.
